One Small Step For The Rundown

I wanted to share this with you. Our modern media academy continues to get built. Pole Pole. Slowly, as we say in Swahili.

It’s been a good week for me and my crypto community. Bitcoin crossed 50,000 this week. The whales are buying. There’s a supply shock in the market because of the bitcoin spot ETF. Institutional buyers are picking up billions worth of BTC. Blackrock and Fidelity, for instance, both shattered three billion AUM in less than one month. All this, and we are still two months out from the bitcoin halving event. That will be a further supply shock.

While it’s been a big breakthrough for Bitcoin, we’ve taken a small step over at The Rundown. I wanted to share this with you. Thomas, Zaqi and I have been hustling away. Our modern media academy continues to get built. Pole Pole. Slowly, as we say in Swahili.

We added a few video tips for you to watch on the go. We would love for you to sign up. More AI tools and tech tips for communications are to come. Here are some screen grabs so you get the vibes.

Wanja

Meanwhile, you can access Wanja now from our site. She’s your guide to understanding Africa. She has only a handful of data sets—health, climate, creative and cultural industries—and curated data sets and conversations around investing in Africa. Her retrieval needs to improve, we know. It means chunking and labelling our data differently. We will work on some fine-tuning as well. You have a limit of 10 questions for now. All feedback is welcome.

We would love your continued support for our substack. Any paid subs will help us build and test Wanja, and create more content. Yes, we are bootstrapping this.

Build Google On Your Own Data. We Built Wanja.

Newsrooms and communications teams must consider creating their own search engines, which can be internally or externally facing. Start to understand what that means and how it works. The answer lies in RAG.

I Plan To Eliminate Myself From My Job. Let Me Explain.

My work is in the field of communications. A professional field where AI will transform (is transforming) this space super fast. Better, faster, and smarter tools will replace many of the tasks I do.
